STL Art Lots

STL Art Lots is transforming vacant lots across the city of St. Louis by activating them with art. This project brings communities together, addresses policy issues, and creates paid opportunities for local artists. We are currently focused on redeveloping vacant lots along the new Hodiamont Greenway (formerly Hodiamont Track) walking and biking path. Please visit our page on partnerships with 7Together Along Delmar for more information about developing an arts corridor along the Hodiamont Greenway.

Our first ArtLot, the West End Park on 5902 Clemens, has just been completed and is now open to the public. Learn more about this new park and community gathering space here.

Artists

Our official call for artists is not open yet. However, if you are a STL-based artist in any discipline (visual arts, performing arts, music, creative writing and literature) who is interested in public art or community-based projects, please send your portfolio and artist statement to us, and we'll keep your information stored on file for when relevant opportunities arise.

Some of the art projects we are interested in presenting through STL ArtLots include:

    • Outdoor sculptures and site-specific installations
    • Mural arts
    • Land arts
    • Live concerts, readings and performances
    • Interactive outdoors arts workshops

Volunteers

We always need volunteers to assist with lot redevelopment projects. Are you skilled at gardening and planting? Do you have skills in landscaping, land management, or urban planning that you want to contribute to the community? Or do you just have a lot of elbow grease? Get in touch and we'll find a place for you on our team.

Some skills we're looking for right now:

    • Garden design and maintenance
    • Bulb planting
    • Landscape and hardscape design
    • Land use and management
    • Architecture and urban design
    • Fundraising and grant writing
    • Data and research

Community Organizations, Associations, and Businesses

Are you a community organization, neighborhood association, or business with ties to one of the neighborhoods an ArtLot is being developed in? Go ahead and reach out — we're always looking for new partners to collaborate with.
